Resurfacing Activities on I-75 in Knox County Begin May 10

Motorists traveling on I-75 in Knox County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic.

Beginning on Sunday, May 10, resurfacing activities will begin on I-75 from just north of State Route 131 (Emory Road/Exit 112) to just north of Raccoon Valley Road (Exit 117). This work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday evenings. All work is expected to be complete by mid-July.

Crews will begin resurfacing in the southbound direction. This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.

As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for your destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel. The TDOT SmartWay system provides the latest updates for road construction activity. Travelers can also call 511 for travel information.
