(New York, NY) - Today Investigation Discovery, the leading true crime network, announced the premiere date for GAME DAY MURDERS, a gripping new series executive produced by NBA legend and true crime enthusiast Shaquille O'Neal. The six-episode series reveals shocking murder cases that rocked the world of sports and forever altered the lives of athletes, teammates, families, and entire communities. Guided by veteran sports broadcaster Lindsay Czarniak, the series explores the dark intersection where ambition, competition, and violence collide. GAME DAY MURDERS will premiere on Monday, July 27 at 10/9c with new episodes airing weekly on ID. Episodes will be available to stream on HBO Max.

"I've been a true-crime guy my whole life, so working with ID on GAME DAY MURDERS was a natural fit," said Executive Producer, Shaquille O'Neal. "Sports create obsession - I've seen it firsthand. But when that obsession breaks the wrong way, it's something else entirely. People aren't ready for this show."

"Sports have a unique ability to unite communities, inspire unwavering devotion, and create larger-than-life figures," said Jason Sarlanis, President of Investigation Discovery. "With Shaq's lifelong passion for true crime and Lindsay Czarniak's deep understanding of the culture and impact of sports, GAME DAY MURDERS offers a compelling look at the cases that shocked fans, shattered expectations, and altered the fabric of the world of sports."

Through firsthand accounts from families, teammates, and those closest to the cases, each episode of GAME DAY MURDERS paints a vivid cultural portrait of the inner workings and emotional stakes of teams, fanbases, and communities faced with tragic consequences. Spanning the gamut of the sports world, the premiere season explores high-profile cases including: the tragic home invasion of NFL star Sean Taylor, featuring commentary from former Washington Redskins teammate Santana Moss; the robbery-turned-murder of MLB player Dernell Stenson, with insights from his friend and former teammate Mike Gallo; the arrest of NHL player Mike Danton in a murder-for-hire plot, with an interview from former professional hockey player and teammate Joe Goodenow; and more, with each case revealing how the pursuit of greatness can collide with tragedy in ways that continue to reverberate years later.

The series premiere of GAME DAY MURDERS revisits the story of Baylor University basketball player Patrick Dennehy, who went missing in 2003. For the first time ever, his teammate Ellis Kidd, Jr. shares his personal account of the murder investigation that led to exposing one of college basketball's biggest scandals.
