Upcoming Mpox Vaccination Clinics
Since June, there have been 115 mpox cases reported in Chicago. In the month of September alone, there were 59 new mpox cases. Nearly all of these cases are among males, and 57 percent identify as gay or bisexual male.
CDPH, working with community partners throughout the city, has mobilized to build awareness and host vaccination events, including:

Measles Exposure at O'Hare
In 2025, a total of 12 confirmed measles cases have been identified in Illinois. One case was recently confirmed in an out of state resident who traveled through O'Hare Airport on the evening of September 30. Anyone who was present at Terminal 5 of O'Hare on that evening (8:50 pm-2 am) should watch themselves for symptoms and call a healthcare provider if they start to feel sick.
At this time, the risk of measles to the general public in Chicago remains low. However, all Chicagoans should be alert for signs of measles, including fever and rash, especially after international travel. Residents are encouraged to review their immunization records or contact their health care provider to make sure they are up to date on the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. MMR vaccines are available to anyone who needs them at CDPH's Immunization Clinics across the City. For more information on cases and exposure locations, visit chicago.gov/measles.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting people with breasts, and early detection saves lives. CDPH is working to close gaps in care by connecting residents to free or low-cost breast health services throughout the city.
Through community partnerships with local organizations, CDPH helps ensure that eligible Chicagoans, regardless of insurance status, can access lifesaving screening, navigation, and education services.
If you haven't had a recent mammogram or would like to learn about available screening options, support is available.
