The Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl National Finals in Chandigarh produced some scintillating performances, with Team Folksterz (New Delhi) coming away as the winners, at the Central Park CGC, Landran. A total of eight teams participated in the Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl National Finals, on Monday evening (September 28). All the teams had qualified through the four qualifiers held in Chandigarh, Jalandhar, New Delhi and Amritsar, from where each of the top two teams made it to the Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl National Finals.
The champions, Folksterz, comprised Sukhmani Kaur, Karandeep Singh, Samardeep Singh, Jagjit Singh, Japjeet Singh and Manjot Singh. The other teams who were part of the Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl National Finals were the Roaring Queens (Chandigarh), Stage One Girls (New Delhi), Khalsa College Amritsar (Amritsar), DAV College Jalandhar (Jalandhar), J-Spaars (Amritsar), UBA Sangrur (Jalandhar) and Rooh Virse Di (Chandigarh).
The judges for the Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl National Finals were Sahaj Singh, Kunwar Saheb and Simran Jat, all known for their deep influence and passion for the art form. Their expertise and love for bhangra added immense credibility and excitement to the event.
Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl is a celebration of skill, tradition, athleticism, and creativity-bringing college crews and community teams onto a national platform where culture meets competition. With every edition, Red Bull continues to elevate the energy and authenticity of India's bhangra movement, inspiring the next generation of dancers and performers.
Competition Format
Designed to resonate with local dance enthusiasts, Red Bull Bhangra Brrrawl brings the energy of grassroots street performances to a national stage. The competition format encourages creativity, collaboration, and skill, allowing teams to showcase their individuality and regional styles.
· The journey began with open online auditions, where bhangra crews of 3-6 members (aged 16+) submitted original three-minute group performance videos. Red Bull
· From these, teams were shortlisted for city-level qualifiers in Chandigarh and Jalandhar.
· In each city qualifier, teams battled in a knockout format.
· Four teams from each city advanced to the National Final, forming the top-8.
· The National Final followed a multi-round structure:
Quarter-finals (Top-8): a three-minute choreo round (props permitted).
Semi-finals (Top-4): Two-vs-Two, two rounds of 45 seconds each, performed on dhol beats by a DJ.
Final (Top-2): Team-vs-Team battle in four rounds of 45 seconds each, performed to impromptu DJ music.
