(Leavenworth, Kansas) - The University of Saint Mary has hired alumna Elle Campbell as the new head flag football coach. Campbell is no stranger to success in a Spire uniform as she played three years for the USM flag football team, serving as team captain for two of those seasons.
In addition to her flag football experience, Campbell has also served as a graduate assistant for USM football and will continue to serve on the team's operations staff.
"I'm interested in and currently focusing on the small details that go into creating a resilient, close-knit, and highly competitive culture - one where players support each other, embrace hard work, and take pride in representing the University of Saint Mary," she said. "I aim to build a team identity that not only competes at a high level but also embodies character, connection, and growth."
With flag football still relatively new in the area, Campbell is also passionate about helping the game grow well beyond campus.
"Elle is eager to be an ambassador for the sport, introducing more young athletes and families to USM flag football," Vice President of Athletics Rob Miller said. "We are excited to be growing right along with her."
