JEOL Ranked No. 1 among Japanese Companies in the Nature Index “Count Metric”

Release Date: 2026/04/20

The Nature Index is an internationally recognized indicator that aggregates and visualizes contributions to research papers published in world-leading science journals including Nature and Science, by institution, country, and region. The index comprises two metrics: the "Share metric", which reflects the proportion of contribution to a paper, and the "Count metric", which assigns a value of one when at least one author affiliated with the institution is included in a paper.

We are pleased to announce that our company has ranked first in the "Count metric (Japan, corporate sector)" based on the Nature Index data for 2025 (January-December).
This ranking reflects the high number of research papers which we have contributed to in cutting-edge fields worldwide and demonstrates our broad engagement in research activities that help shape the future.

Going forward, we will continue to co-create innovation together with universities, research institutions, and R&D departments of private-sector partners that are challenging the cutting-edge technologies. By offering the outcomes as products and services to society, we aim to contribute to address societal challenges and develop a sustainable society.
