Jessica Shannon Appointed Volunteer Lawyers Project Board of Directors

Iowa family law shareholder Jessica Shannon was recently appointed to the Polk County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyer's Project (PCBA VLP) board of directors, a charitable organization providing legal assistance to individuals who cannot afford legal representation.

Appointed by Executive Director, Carol Phillips, Jessica will help recruit attorney volunteers and secure funding to help provide legal services for Iowa citizens. Each year, Polk County lawyers donate thousands of hours to ensure that every client with legal needs can access the justice system, making it one of the most successful programs in the United States.

In addition to this new leadership role, Jessica is on the board of directors for Animal Lifeline of Iowa. She volunteers at Drake University Law School, Lawyers in Libraries, and the Iowa State Bar Association's Community Legal Education Program.
