FAA Awards $4.8 Million to North Dakota Airports

BISMARCK, N.D. - The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced $4,860,937 to North Dakota airports through the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program.

  • $4,713,687 to the Williston Basin International Airport. This project constructs a new 9,600 square foot hangar for aircraft storage and maintenance.
  • $147,250 to the Ellendale Municipal Airport. This project reconstructs 2,200 feet of existing hangar area airport access road, reconstructs existing airfield markings, and updates the existing Airport Property Inventory Map.

The AIG program was established by the fully-paid-for Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to provide airports with funding for modernization and safety projects. Since its creation, over $80 million in program funding has been provided to airports in North Dakota.
