The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) El Paso District will host an in-person public hearing, with a virtual option, for proposed bicycle projects in the region. The hearing will focus specifically on 20 proposed projects that will add to, or modify, bike facilities in Brewster, El Paso, and Presidio counties.
TxDOT and its local partners are collaborating toward a shared goal of enhancing the region's multimodal network. Projects included in the hearing are the result of collaboration with Horizon City, Socorro, City of El Paso, Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority, and El Paso County.
"Our District has some of the best weather for active transportation and our roadways work best when they are shaped by the people who use them; that is why we are asking the public for their feedback to help shape our regional bicycle network," said TxDOT El Paso District Transportation Alternatives Coordinator Jose Bocanegra.
The public hearing will include both audio and visual components. The content will be the same in both formats. The in-person public hearing will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) at the TxDOT District Conference Center, located at 13301 Gateway Boulevard West, El Paso, Texas 79928. The virtual hearing presentation will be posted online by 5:30 p.m. MDT on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
