Total spending by international tourists up to October stood at just over €118.612 billion, which represents an increase of 7% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE).
The number of international tourists arriving in Spain in the first ten months of 2025 exceeded 85.6 million, an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period of the previous year.
In October, we welcomed 9.2 million international tourists, a 3.2% year-on-year increase. These tourists spent €12.785 billion in Spain, 7.4% more than in October 2024.
These figures, as has been the case throughout the year, confirm the trend of spending at the destination growing faster than the rate of arrivals, which has been somewhat more moderate in 2025 than last year. This statistical trend aligns with the Ministry's commitment to a new, more sustainable tourism model that prioritises quality over quantity, decentralises and reduces the seasonality of destinations, and diversifies the tourism offerings.
In the first ten months of 2025, the United Kingdom was the country with the highest cumulative spending (17.9% of the total) and a 3.6% increase in October, followed by Germany (11.8%), which saw a 3.3% decrease in spending in October, and France (8.8%), which increased its spending by 9.5%.
