Update on Odor Concerns in West Roseville

District staff continue to investigate potential sources of odor, including the Pleasant Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), the Lincoln WWTP, and the Western Regional Landfill, but have not been able to confirm any of these facilities are the source. We have spoken to these facilities, and they have not reported any operations, maintenance activities or upset conditions that would result in unusual odors. We are also investigating whether the potential application of fertilizers on neighboring agricultural fields might be responsible. The District has deployed field patrols from Baseline Road in the south to Fiddyment Ranch in the north to monitor the situation. District staff remain committed to identifying the source of the odors that residents have experienced, and encourage residents that do smell unusual odors to report them to the Air District through its online portal at: https://www.placerair.org/1692/Complaints.
