Following a successful collaboration at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2024, Airbnb and Art Basel, the world's leading art fair for Modern and contemporary art, announce a landmark multi-year partnership. This collaboration will span Art Basel's flagship shows in Paris, Miami Beach, and Basel, offering art enthusiasts the chance to transform each visit into a one-of-a-kind journey - blending unique stays and unforgettable art experiences.
In partnership with Art Basel, Airbnb is launching the "Airbnb Arts Travel Grant", dedicating $1.2 million to support emerging artists and galleries. Each fair's director will nominate grant recipients, championing emerging voices, ambitious work, and new exhibitors whose work bring fresh energy to the art community and spark wider cultural conversations.
"This partnership is about creating meaningful connections, supporting emerging talent, and making art accessible to all" said Clément Eulry, Airbnb Country Manager, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. "Through this collaboration, we'll connect art enthusiasts with inspiring personalities from the art world, offering intimate access and one-of-a-kind experiences. We're excited to bring this to life at Art Basel Paris this October, giving audiences a fresh way to experience both the fair and the city."
"Airbnb's commitment to creating meaningful cultural and travel experiences resonates with our mission to connect artists, galleries, and institutions with a wider community of patrons and enthusiasts," said Vincenzo de Bellis, Chief Artistic Officer & Global Director, Art Basel Fairs. "Through this partnership, we can offer new ways of experiencing culture worldwide while supporting emerging talent in building sustainable networks."
Airbnb and Art Basel will collaborate to curate a collection of bespoke Art Experiences - from private artist studio visits and curator-led tours to intimate gatherings with artists and gallerists - giving travelers the opportunity to connect with the art world in a more personal and immersive way. The first two experiences will take place on the occasion of Art Basel Paris 2025, with additional unique offerings to be announced later this year.
Acclaimed fashion documentarian and curator Loïc Prigent will host an exclusive tour through select galleries and artists featured in this year's Oh La La! initiative at Art Basel Paris. Guests will enjoy private access to gallerists, insider perspectives on the program, and a rare opportunity to share concluding refreshments with Prigent inside the fair's prestigious Collectors Lounge-complete with VIP privileges.
Paris-based painter Bilal Hamdad, celebrated for his large-scale, urban-inspired oil works, will personally welcome guests to an exclusive tour of Paname-his first-ever solo museum exhibition at the beloved Petit Palais. The experience promises a rare, one-on-one encounter with the artist, culminating in an intimate conversation over bites in a private lounge.
More than 65,000 visitors attended Art Basel Paris last year, including 20 percent more guest arrivals recorded during the Art Basel Paris weekend in October 2024 on Airbnb. In anticipation of this year's edition, Airbnb is stepping in to help meet demand. From collectors and gallerists to artists and travelers, Airbnb offers accommodations that not only support their work and exploration in Paris but also provide opportunities to discover art-filled homes around the world.
