The bank received the Best of Show Gold Eagle Award in the marketing category for its "Empowering Possible Since 1875" campaign, and the Silver Eagle Award in the architectural design category for its new Heath banking center.
American National Bank of Texas (ANBTX), one of the oldest and largest independently owned community banks in Texas, received the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) Best of Show Gold Eagle Award, the program's top statewide honor, and Silver Eagle Award as part of the 2026 Best of Community Banking (BOCB) Awards competition.
ANBTX received the Best of Show Award in the Marketing category for its 150th anniversary campaign, "Empowering Possible Since 1875," which marked the bank's sesquicentennial through advertising, storytelling, employee recognition and community events across North Texas. The campaign included four signature anniversary events and 28 Banking Center Appreciation Days, connecting the milestone to the customers, employees and communities that have shaped ANBTX's history. The campaign generated nearly 45 million impressions, resulting in more than $1.5 million in new deposits, a nearly 160% increase in online account openings, and a more than 260% increase in social media engagement.
Additionally, the bank received a Silver Eagle Award in the Architectural Design category for its new Heath banking center, which opened last year. Developed in collaboration with the City of Heath, the nearly 8,000-square-foot, $9.5 million facility combines architecture inspired by the community's character with modern spaces designed for personal, relationship-focused banking.
"Celebrating 150 years gave us an opportunity to thank the people and communities who made that milestone possible, while showing how we're continuing to invest in their future," said ANBTX CEO Robert Hulsey. "That same commitment guided our work with the City of Heath to create a banking center that feels at home in its community. We're grateful to IBAT for recognizing both efforts, and especially proud of the ANBTX teams who brought them to life."
Now in its 35th year, the Best of Community Banking Awards recognize the best-of-the-best efforts from members of IBAT, the largest state community banking organization in the nation, across six categories: Architectural Design, Bank Culture, Community Service, Financial Literacy, Innovation and Marketing. The 2026 competition recognized more than 40 banks at its annual convention in San Antonio earlier this month, including one Best of Show Award winner, one Community Spirit Award winner, 10 Gold Eagle Award winners, 21 Silver Eagle Award winners and nine Bronze Eagle Award winners.
