The City of Columbia will close its offices on Friday, June 19, in observance of opens in a new windowJuneteenth, which honors the end of slavery in the United States. Several City services will be impacted by the holiday.
Residential curbside trash and recycling will still be collected on June 19 and will not be subject to delays for the remainder of the week.

The City's Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) will operate at reduced hours on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rec swim will be available from noon to 2:30 p.m. The Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, Lake of the Woods Pool and Douglass Family Aquatic Center will be open from noon to 5 p.m.
The City will close its administrative offices for the Police and Fire departments. However, all other emergency services will be available.
Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services will close its offices. However, Animal Control will respond to emergencies such as a vicious dog or a bat in a home.
