The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, met with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the existing partnership between Georgia and the Republic of North Macedonia and discussed prospects for further enhancing bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was devoted to opportunities to deepen collaboration in the areas of the economy, trade, connectivity, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
The discussion also focused on the importance of strengthening connectivity between the Black Sea region and the Western Balkans, including on issues relating to the development of secure and reliable transit routes and economic corridors.
President Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed his gratitude to Afrim Gashi for the Republic of North Macedonia's steadfast support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its consistent adherence to the policy of non-recognition. He further expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop successfully in the years ahead.
