AUC Chairperson at 66th anniversary of independence of Republic of Congo

Today August 15th, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission participated in the celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Congo. The celebrations include a full military parade, as well as a civilian parade composed of members of the civil service, civil society and citizens from all walks of life. The parade was followed by a reception given by H.E. Denis Sassou Ngessou, President of the Republic of Congo. The celebrations were marked by a spirit of African solidarity and unity. H.E. Évariste Ndayishimiye President of the Republic of Burundi and current Chairperson of the African Union was the Guest of Honor at the festivities, that also saw the participation from representatives from across the continent.
