Where: El Molino Campus Library, 7050 Covey Rd, Forestville, CA.
When: Tuesday, April 21, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Presentation at 6:20 PM
Who: Caltrans Bay Area and Sonoma Public Infrastructure Department
What: Discussion of the upcoming project to rehabilitate pavement on Route 116 between Monte Rio and Sebastopol. The project includes some bicycle and sidewalk improvements.
The forum will also provide the public with an opportunity to comment on the project's environmental document. However, attendance is not necessary to do so, as can be done by mail or on the project webpage: Route 116 Forestville to Sebastopol Paving Project | Caltrans
Why: The project will repair damaged areas and repave Route 116, improving the ride quality for all vehicles. The project will add pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure in accordance with Complete Street Guidance. The existing pavement and drainage culverts show signs of distress and deterioration. Fixing these issues now will obviate a more expensive project in the future. Additionally, the project will close gaps in bicycle lanes and sidewalks.
