Netflix is set to premiere its highly anticipated new series, Four Hands, Two Sonatas , on August 29. Set at an elite arts high school for musical prodigies, the drama follows two young pianists whose lives become deeply intertwined through their shared passion for the keys, navigating the tumultuous waters of friendship, rivalry, and growth.
Song Kang and Lee jun young portray beautifully contrasting yet parallel characters. Song Kang (Sweet Home, Love Alarm) stars as Kang Pi-o, an elite, prodigal pianist who has spent his life on a steady path to perfection. Driven by an unwavering obsession with music, Pi-o appears flawless and self-assured on the surface, yet beneath his brilliant talent lies a hidden world of anxiety and pressure. Opposite him, Lee jun young (Weak Hero Class 2, When Life Gives You Tangerines) plays Choi Jeong-yo, a late-blooming talent who pursues his dream of playing the piano despite a difficult and turbulent childhood. Free-spirited, raw, and unfiltered, Jeong-yo possesses a natural warmth that coaxes out a strikingly different kind of musical brilliance.
The newly released teaser trailer offers a captivating first glimpse into the intense musical rivalry and complex dynamic between the two students. As they constantly clash and challenge one another on the keys, they find themselves pushing each other to new artistic heights, raising anticipation for how their shared journey of personal and professional growth will unfold.
A poignant coming-of-age story shaped by contrasting melodies, fierce rivalry, and a deep-seated bond, Four Hands, Two Sonatas premieres globally on Netflix on August 29.
