HIMARS FLEX - Modernized for Mission Flexibility
A New Benchmark for Offensive and Defensive Fires
The future of adaptable fires is here. Introducing HIMARS FLEX, a modular evolution of the legendary HIMARS launcher. Utilizing the all-new FLEXFires technology ecosystem, HIMARS FLEX will provide new munition and autonomy options, enabling more mission capability while retaining the precision and proven deterrence HIMARS delivers.
Proven Heritage, Expanded Capability
Combat Proven - HIMARS FLEX is the next chapter in the iconic story of HIMARS and its more than 2.5 million operating hours worldwide.
Interoperable - HIMARS FLEX can share munitions with NATO stockpiles (GMLRS, ER GMLRS, PrSM, ATACMS, PAC-3) and integrate into joint-fire-control networks, creating a deterrence multiplier while staying C-130 transportable on the XM1140 chassis.
Modular Loadout - Dual-pod configurations can carry double the offensive firepower as well as seamlessly configure for air and missile defense munitions such as PAC-3, IFPC and beyond.
Tailored for New and Existing Customers
Built-in modularity allows new and current partners to implement the FLEXFires technology necessary for their needs: single-pod baseline, dual-pod "FLEX" loadout, multiple platform options (mobile and containerized), as well as autonomy. The result is reduced training and sustainment costs while preserving the ability to adapt to regional needs.
"HIMARS FLEX will be a game changer in the future of offensive and defensive fires," said Tim Cahill, president, Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control. "Our FLEXFires technology suite will let operators scale loadout and add autonomous capabilities without sacrificing speed or accuracy."
Mobility and Distributed Operations
The shoot-and-scoot nature of HIMARS FLEX, combined with increased munitions loadout, rapid reloading and optional autonomy, delivers distributed, survivable fire across contested environments - complicating adversary targeting and strengthening deterrence.
"Flexibility, interoperability and proven performance are the three pillars defining today's most effective deterrent capabilities," said Gaylia Campbell, vice president and general manager, Lockheed Martin Tactical Missiles. "HIMARS FLEX brings our allies the ability to tailor offensive and defensive firepower to their specific needs while staying connected to a common, battle-proven ecosystem."
Bottom Line
HIMARS FLEX is modernized for mission flexibility with more munitions and autonomy options, delivering unparalleled precision, mobility and NATO-compatible interoperability. It will shape the future of allied artillery and air defense, provide a decisive edge to coalition forces and uphold the promise of rapid, accurate fires and protection wherever it is needed.
