Dear Friend,
For the first time since 2018, the House has passed a full five-year Farm Bill.
If you're not familiar, the Farm Bill comes around about every five years and supports the programs our farmers rely on to keep America the world's leader in food production. After eight years, these programs were long overdue for an update, and this bill delivers.
Modernizing these programs for the challenges of 2026 and beyond is paramount for the livelihood of our producers and America's food security, because we live in a much different world than we did in 2018.
Here in America's Dairyland, we know our farms aren't just part of our economy; they are part of who we are. This bill strengthens rural communities and supports the hardworking families who keep them going.
It ensures farmland stays productive and in farmers' hands, cracks down on food stamp fraud, which is something we saw play out again this week, and expands rural broadband so our communities can compete and stay connected.
It also includes several priorities I have long fought for. It included language that would prevent funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture from being used for solar panels on prime farmland. We must ensure that we are not trading the breadbasket of America for expensive and unreliable forms of energy.
It also includes a PRIME Act pilot program, which I am a cosponsor of, that will cut red tape and allow farmers to use local processing facilities to sell meat within the state. This is a commonsense reform that eases burdens on small producers and gives consumers better access to Wisconsin-raised products.
Lastly, it blocks foreign adversaries and state sponsors of terrorism from buying up American farmland. This is just common sense, and we should all agree that Communist China should never own U.S. farmland.
The process of forming and passing this Farm Bill was not a quick one, but I am glad the House did its job. Now it's time for the Senate to follow through and get this across the finish line.
Our farmers show up every day to feed this country. It's about time Washington shows up for them.
Thanks for kicking off your weekend with us. We hope you have a great fishing opener and enjoy this week's edition of the Tiffany Telegram.
Sincerely,
Tom Tiffany

The vile calls for political violence
Last weekend, President Trump and several members of his administration were the target of yet another assassination attempt. While the President and all other attendees were safe, and the perpetrator was quickly apprehended thanks to the great work of our law enforcement officials, there have unfortunately been some fringe voices glorifying the violence. We saw a Wisconsin Kaukauna High School teacher say that he was sad that the would-be-assassin missed, and Kirk Bangstad, owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company, who called for a better shooter - going as far as offering a free beer day whenever President Trump dies. Thankfully, the Kaukauna School District has placed that teacher on administrative leave, and the FBI Field Office in Milwaukee said in response to Bangstad's post that "threats of violence and terrorism will be investigated." These disgusting remarks and calls for violence of any kind have no place in our society.
Cutting off Communist China's clients
It's no secret that the Chinese Communist Party is constantly finding ways to exploit our laws, threaten our economy, and grab U.S. farmland - all while perpetrating wide-scale human rights abuses, and even genocide inside their own country. What is less well-known is their pervasive effort to engage in repression outside their own borders, sometimes even enlisting the authorities in other countries to do their dirty work. Last week we saw an example of that when Beijing reportedly ordered three of its client states in the Indian Ocean to stop Taiwan President William Lai from making an official state visit to Africa by violating international civil aviation rules. The Trump administration rightly called China out for this brazen act of proxy "intimidation" and "threatening international peace and prosperity." I agree, and it's why I wrote a letter to Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin suggesting retaliatory sanctions against these CCP puppet governments. Two of the countries, Madagascar and Mauritius, have long been recipients of generous sums of US foreign aid. Meanwhile, the third, Seychelles, has quietly been trying to negotiate visa-free entry to America for its citizens. All of that ought to end right now. You can check out the letter I sent here, and read more about the situation here and here.
Lower prescription drug prices
As Telegramreaders may know, back in February, the Trump administration launched TrumpRx.gov so Americans can buy certain brand-name prescriptions at Most-Favored-Nation prices. This means we stop paying more than other developed countries for the same medicines. Just last week, President Trump announced a new agreement between another pharmaceutical company, Regeneron, that adds another major option for eligible patients. Under the deal, Regeneron's cholesterol medicine Praluent will be available for direct purchase through TrumpRx at a reduced price, dropping from $537 to $225. The agreement also gives every state Medicaid program access to Most-Favored-Nation pricing on Regeneron products and sets the expectation that future Regeneron medicines will be priced for U.S. patients in line with what other countries pay. It will be posted on the website here soon.
District Update
Wisconsin strong
Several communities across Wisconsin, including Ringle, were recently impacted by severe flooding and tornadoes. In response, the Wisconsin congressional delegation sent a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) thanking the agency for its swift action in beginning a Joint Preliminary Damage Assessment (JPDA). This assessment will help determine whether the damage meets the threshold for a Presidential Major Disaster Declaration. Initial assessments from Wisconsin Emergency Management indicate the damage may exceed what the state can recover from on its own. Following Governor Evers' request to FEMA on Wednesday, the agency responded swiftly. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by these storms. In moments like this, communities across Wisconsin come together and support one another. We will recover stronger. You can read the letter here.
Photo of the week
Wisconsin is home to beautiful wildlife, and we have one of the largest bald eagle populations in the U.S. As the weather warms, keep an eye out for these majestic birds soaring above our lakes and rivers this summer. If you have a photo that captures life in Wisconsin, send it to [email protected] with your name and location. Your photo could be featured in next week's Telegram!
