Final few days until the UK Department for Transport Decarbonising Smaller Vessels Call for Evidence Closes

29 August 2025

With just days to go until the DfT Decarbonising Smaller Vessels Call for Evidence closes we want to take this opportunity to strongly encourage all of our members to respond.

The government has indicated that they feel that due to the nature of our activities and the design of our vessels, our sector already has the technological solutions to decarbonise in place. It is important that we are able to clearly explain and provide supporting data to clarify this incorrect assumption, that whilst there are some vessel types with suitable existing technological solutions, we are a varied and diverse marine sector with numerous vessel types that have yet to identify a suitable technological means of decarbonising. If you have yet to completed the call for evidence, please do so, it is important that the government have responses from everyone in the industry, the more information we can give the government the more likely it is that the next stages of the marine decarbonisation strategy will support and enable our sector. If you have any questions on any aspects of the call for evidence or require data for your response please contact [email protected]
