Tallahassee State College Renews Collegiate Purple Star Campus Designation

Tallahassee State College has renewed its designation as a Collegiate Purple Star Campus, recognizing the College's continued commitment to supporting military-connected students and families.

The Collegiate Purple Star Campus Designation recognizes Florida colleges and universities that demonstrate a commitment to helping military students and families successfully transition to and navigate the college environment. Florida College System Chancellor Kathryn S. Hebda congratulated the College on maintaining the designation and recognized TSC's continued dedication to military students and families. The designation has been renewed for three academic calendar years, extending TSC's Purple Star Campus status through April 2030.

"Military-connected students bring tremendous experience, perspective, and leadership to our campus community," said Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of TSC. "We are proud to continue providing the resources and support they need to achieve their educational and career goals. This designation reflects the commitment of our faculty and staff to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed."

At TSC, the Richard W. and Karen B. Moore Veterans Success Center is a one-stop dedicated resource for veterans, active-duty military members, reservists, National Guard members, and military-connected families. The Center helps students navigate educational benefits, connect with College and community resources, and make a successful transition from military service to college and the workforce.

"Maintaining this designation reflects the work we do every day to make sure our military-connected students know they have a place at TSC and people here who are ready to help them," said Benjamin Carman, Veterans Success Center Manager. "We are honored to serve those who have served our country and their families."
