A moment of calm during a challenging time

Everyone working with the Regional Emergency Operations Centre understands that being away from home during a wildfire is difficult and stressful.

To help provide some reassurance, current photos of downtown Summerland have been shared so residents can see how the area is doing while evacuation orders remain in place.

While these images look calm, the Bald Range Wildfire remains out of control.

There is still a real risk to public safety. Your patience and cooperation are appreciated as responders work to keep everyone safe.

While conditions continue to be assessed by emergency personnel, this photo offers a glimpse of the community and may help ease some of the uncertainty of being away from home.
