City of Reno Seeks Community Input on Final Draft of Strategic Plan for Fiscal Year 2027-2029

The City of Reno is in the final stages of developing its three-year Strategic Plan for Fiscal Year 2027-2029 and is inviting residents to review and provide feedback on the draft plan. The Strategic Plan guides how the City delivers services, invests in the community, and plans for the future.

The final draft Strategic Plan reflects extensive community input gathered throughout the planning process. In March 2025, the Reno City Council directed staff to initiate an update to the City's Strategic Plan and replace the previously adopted plan from 2019.

The planning update process incorporated insights gathered through the City's community-wide survey, strategic planning workshops, and various other engagement efforts with residents, City staff, and City Council.

Currently, the City's seven overarching goals are as follows: fiscal stewardship, legal obligations, safe community, well-maintained City infrastructure, access to natural spaces, quality of life, and government effectiveness.

As the process nears completion, community members are encouraged to review the draft and share any final feedback. Input can be provided through an online feedback form, by email at [email protected], or by attending a webinar on June 23, 2026 at noon. Feedback will be collected now through June 30, 2026.

"Resident feedback is very important to the work we are doing at the City of Reno because it helps us incorporate community needs and priorities," said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. "I encourage all residents to share their opinion on our Strategic Plan, and I look forward to reviewing the final plan when it is presented at a future Reno City Council meeting."

Feedback from this final review period will be shared at an upcoming Reno City Council meeting, with a final draft presented for adoption and implementation.
