Closures Continues at Appian Way and Cummings Skyway Overcrossings Above Interstate 80 in Contra Costa County

Contra Costa County - Caltrans will continue construction activities at the Appian Way and Cummings Skyway overcrossings above (I-80), requiring temporary daytime, nighttime and weekend lanes and ramp closures.

Closure Schedule & Details

Cummings Skyway Off-Ramp Closures (Eastbound I-80):

  • Dates: Continues through June 19, 2026
  • Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Work: Island reconstruction
  • Impact: Daytime closure of the eastbound I-80 off-ramp at Cummings Skyway

Appian Way Overcrossing Overnight One Lane Closures (Southbound):

  • Dates: June 22 - June 26, 2026 & June 29 - July 3, 2026
  • Time: 7:00 PM - 5:00 AM (nightly)
  • Work: Asbestos removal
  • Impact: One lane closed on southbound Appian Way overcrossing near I-80.

Extended Weekend One Lane Closure - Appian Way Overcrossing (Southbound):

  • Dates: Friday, June 26 - Monday June 28, 2026
  • Time: 7:00 PM (Friday) - 7:00 AM (Monday)
  • Work: Approach slab reconstruction
  • Impact: Continuous one lane closed on southbound Appian Way overcrossing near I 80.

Additional Information

  • No mainline lane closures on I-80 are planned until after the July 4th holiday weekend
  • All work is weather-dependent and subject to change
