Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed with Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China

On 25 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Sun Weidong, Vice Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Future Forum 2025 in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

Both sides reaffirmed that the discussion between Thai and Chinese leaders during the Prime Minister's official visit to China in February 2025 had provided solid basis for elevating bilateral relations and cooperation. They also exchanged views on regional developments as well as ways to enhance ASEAN-China cooperation while strengthening ASEAN centrality. In this regard, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to work closely together at both bilateral and regional levels to tackle transnational crimes, especially telecommunications fraud, and ensure the prosperity, stability, and safety of the region.
