Colorado Democrats Finalize Positions on 2026 Ballot Measures

DENVER - The Colorado Democratic Party's State Central Committee voted Tuesday on seven measures on the November ballot, concluding the Party's consideration of 2026 ballot measures after previously voting to take positions on others in late May.

"Everyone should be able to afford a good life, make their own health care decisions and have a voice in their government without it breathing down their neck. We believe in protecting Colorado's land, air and water, connecting and protecting our communities and defending the right to vote. We're proud to weigh in on these important measures Colorado will consider this fall," said Colorado Democratic Party Chair Shad Murib.

The Colorado Democratic Party supports:

  • Amendment 87: Graduated Income Tax

  • Proposition NN: State Public K-12 Education Funding

  • Ballot Issue 7A: Front Range Passenger Rail Colorado Connector Funding

The Colorado Democratic Party opposes:

  • Amendment 81: Law Enforcement Reporting Requirements to Federal Authorities

  • Amendment 82: Right to Natural Gas

  • Amendment 84: Mail Ballot Voter Identification

  • Amendment 85: Plain Language Ballot Questions

  • Amendment 86: Congressional Redistricting

  • Proposition 132: Penalties for Fentanyl Crimes

  • Proposition 134: Male and Female Participation in School Sports

  • Proposition 135: Prohibit Certain Surgeries on Minors

  • Proposition 136: Income Tax Rate Cap

  • Proposition 137: Designate Sporting Goods Sales Tax Revenue for Conservation
