Wisconsin Corn Applauds Inclusion of E15 in Newly Released Farm Bill Text

Watertown, Wis. [August 4, 2026] - The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry recently released Farm Bill "2.0" text that includes language on several of NCGA's Farm Bill priorities as well as expanding consumer access to fuel with 15% ethanol blends.

A top priority for Wisconsin corn growers continues to be securing permanent, year-round access to E15 fuel, a move seen as one of the fastest and most effective ways to increase demand for corn. Ethanol plays a crucial role in the state's economy and agricultural sector with nine ethanol plants operating in the state, an estimated $4.2 billion of annual economic activity, almost 20,000 jobs supported and roughly one-third of Wisconsin's corn crop used in ethanol production.

"We appreciate the Senate Committee of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for including year-round E15 in the Agricultural Act," said Paul Jarvis, President of the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association. "If we can get this across the finish line, that would be a huge win for both consumers at the pump and corn growers across the country. There is still a very long process before the farm bill is signed into law, and we urge the Committee to continue advancing the process ahead of the planned August recess."
