One class, one conversation or one professor. Sometimes that's all it takes to change the way you see the world.
The Connecting What Matters Award invites all eligible Georgia College & State University undergraduates to share their story. In a short essay (750 words or fewer), tell us about a transformative learning experience with a College of Arts & Sciences faculty member - one that challenged your thinking, broadened your perspective or shaped your personal growth.
The winning student receives a cash award, and the faculty member featured in the essay receives a professional development award in recognition of their impact on your learning.
Eligibility and Essay Requirements:
The deadline to apply is Sept. 18, 2026. The winner will be selected by the College of Arts & Sciences Scholarship and Awards Committee and announced by mid-October.
If a faculty member has left a lasting mark on your education, this is your chance to say so, and be recognized for it. The application window is open now.
