TOHO and Dolby Laboratories to Launch Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos Facility for Premium Movie Production

The collaboration will elevate cinematic experiences for audiences in Japan and around the world

Tokyo, Japan - September 26, 2025 - TOHO Co., Ltd., Japan's leading movie studio and distributor, and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB), a global leader in immersive entertainment experiences, today announced that TOHO is establishing the company's first theatrical post-production facility for Dolby Vision color grading and Dolby Atmos sound mixing at TOHO Studios in Seijyo, Tokyo targeted to open in December 2025.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in TOHO's collaboration with Dolby to unlock new dimensions of storytelling with unparalleled picture and sound quality. It also marks a big step in TOHO's mission to provide inspiring entertainment to people around the world.

Powering the premium experience at Dolby Cinemas and Dolby Vision + Atmos screens worldwide as well as numerous world premieres, the subtle details and ultravivid colors of Dolby Vision and the lifelike, immersive sound of Dolby Atmos will bring filmmakers' visions to life by fully capturing their artistic imagination and pushing the boundaries of their art forward.

The new facility are built upon TOHO's longstanding collaboration with Dolby. Since 2019, multiple movies, such as GODZILLA MINUS ONE and Demon Slayer The Movie Infinity Castle, have been produced and released in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. TOHO has also been equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos home content production capabilities since 2021 bringing stunning visuals and multidimensional sound to people at home and on the go.
