Marquette Bookshelf: ‘Resolute: A Journey of Hope’

"Resolute: A Journey of Hope" is a powerful fictional account grounded in historical reality, telling the harrowing and inspiring story of Teresita Robles Ayala, a young Cuban woman who survived a perilous sea voyage while fleeing political tyranny. Rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Teresita must navigate grief, loss and the challenges of starting anew in a foreign land, guided by faith, courage and the kindness of strangers. Through her diary entries and reflections, the novel explores themes of resilience, freedom, identity and the enduring human spirit as she strives to rebuild her life amidst uncertainty and danger.
