Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Meets with Permanent Representative of Cabo Verde to the African Union

On 10 July, Ambassador Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union, met with Ambassador Domingos Mascarenhas, Permanent Representative of Cabo Verde to the African Union.

Amb. Jiang congratulated the Cabo Verde national football team on its outstanding performance at the FIFA World Cup. He said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Cabo Verde. The two countries have long respected and supported each other and firmly supported each other on issues concerning their respective core interests and major concerns. China stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with Cabo Verde, deepen cooperation within the African Union and other multilateral platforms, and jointly uphold multilateralism and the common interests of the Global South.

Amb. Mascarenhas thanked Amb. Jiang for his congratulations, highly praised the achievements in the development of Cape Verde-China relations, and expressed gratitude for China's long-term support for Cape Verde and African development. He stated his willingness to maintain close communication with China, further promote the development of the Cape Verde-China strategic partnership, strengthen coordination and cooperation on platforms such as the African Union, and safeguard the common interests of the Global South.
