Defence Minister Pirro Vengu carried out an official visit to Poland, where he took part in the Warsaw Security Forum and held bilateral talks with the Polish Defence Minister, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
During their meeting, the two ministers set the foundations for enhanced cooperation in the field of defense industry and the development of human capital within their respective armed forces. Minister Vengu commended Poland's experience, noting that it has successfully combined European Union membership with the growth of its defense industry as a key economic pillar. He underlined that these best practices will serve as valuable examples for Albania in strengthening its military capacities.
The Warsaw Security Forum, one of Europe's leading platforms for dialogue between NATO member states, the European Union, and the defense industry, this year placed a special focus on cyber defense. Minister Vengu emphasized Albania's notable progress in this domain, highlighting that the country has recently ranked among the top 50 nations globally for its civilian and military cyber defense capabilities.
He further announced that a similar forum will soon be organized in Albania, in close cooperation with Polish, German, and American partners. Minister Vengu stressed that Albania's ongoing commitment to advancing defense, the military industry, and cyber security will play an increasingly important role in regional cooperation, particularly across Southeastern Europe.
