Citywide Snowplowing Begins at Midnight

Citywide snowplowing will begin at midnight, 12:00am January 17, 2026.

The initial plowing pass takes approximately 12 to 14 hours to complete.

Additional details about the plowing operation is available on the Snow Plowing Update for this deployment.

In order to help snowplow drivers tonight, please choose off-street parking options. Fewer obstructions in the road mean they can work more effectively.

If you choose to park on the street tonight, please follow alternate side parking rules. There is no declared snow emergency in effect, so these rules will be enforced outside of the Snow Emergency Zone.

You can sign up to receive snow plowing update emails from the City of Madison winter website. Snow Plowing Updates provide details regarding what to expect from the Streets Division's responses to winter events.
