At a press conference on Wednesday, April 22, city and campus leaders touted the newly launched GoBus expansion into northwest Ohio. GoBus operates routes out of Toledo to the Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati areas, with stops at smaller cities along the way.
Go Bus aims to offer reliable, safe transportation to more than 70 stops across Ohio operating seven days a week, 365-days-a-year.
GoBus, Ohio's city-to-city bus service, is now running routes to and from the UToledo Main Campus Transit Center at S. Towerview Blvd. and E. Rocket Drive.
Tickets - based on length of travel - run from $5-$40, and all buses are fully handicapped accessible and include free Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat.
Discounted fares for Rockets
On top of its already low standard fares, GoBus will offer an unlimited, reusable 50% off discount code to all UToledo students, faculty and staff for the 2026-27 academic year, effective Aug. 1, 2026, through Aug. 8, 2027.
The coupon code, GOROCKETS, can be applied to purchases made from ridegobus.com, or the GoBus mobile app, RideGoBus. The coupon is only valid for trips to and from the UToledo bus stop.
Popular student transportation option
According to GoBus data, roughly 65% of total riders are college students traveling between campus and home.
GoBus was launched in 2010 and is administered by the Transportation Division of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP), and managed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). It was designed to connect Ohio's rural residents with urban centers and with the greater national intercity bus network. GoBus now offers over 70 stop locations across 62 cities and towns.
