One-Way Traffic Control and Full Highway Closure Next Week

Calaveras County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 4 (SR-4), SR-12, SR-26, and SR-49 in Calaveras County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 4

  • Conventional highway shoulder closure at Avery for drainage work beginning Monday, October 12, through Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Apple Blossom to Lower Utica Powerhouse Road for tree work beginning on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Meko Drive to Skyline Drive for tree work beginning Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Conventional highway lane closure at Horseshoe Drive for drainage work on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Tanner Lane to Williams Street for utility work on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

State Route 12

  • One-way traffic control at Southworth Road for drainage work beginning Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

State Route 26

  • Long-term full highway closure at the West Side of SR-26/49 Intersection from Main Street to SR-49 for highway construction work beginning Monday, August 24, at 7:00 a.m. through Monday, November 9, 2026, at 7:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Iris Way to the North Fork Mokelumne River Bridge for drainage work beginning Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Conventional highway shoulder closure at Church Street for pavement work beginning Tuesday, October 13, through Friday, October 16, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Flat Gulch Lane to Ridge Road for tree work beginning Tuesday, October 13, through Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

State Route 49

  • One-way traffic control from Stockton Hill Road to Gold Rush Lane for tree work beginning Tuesday, October 13, through Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
