Ambassador Wu Guangrong Attends Seminar on “Global Governance and China-Africa Relations”

On September 16, Ambassador Wu Guangrong attended the seminar on "Global Governance and China-Africa Relations" hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Uganda and delivered a keynote speech. Over 30 participants attended the event, including Mr. Crispin Kaheru, Commissioner of the Uganda Human Rights Commission, Mr. Rashid, Council of the Uganda Law Society, scholar Mr. Simonand representatives from DWC, AfIBR.

Ambassador Wu elaborated on the core concepts of the Global Governance Initiative (GGI), noting that the Initiative contributes Chinese wisdom and solutions to addressing the global governance deficit. President Xi Jinping recently stressed at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus Meeting the importance of adhering to the principle of "planning together, building together and benefiting together," and emphasized at the 18th BRICS Summit that BRICS should be a pioneer in reforming and improving global governance. China stands ready to work with Uganda and other Global South countries to firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, enhance the representation and voice of developing countries, and jointly advance the reform and improvement of global governance.

Participating experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on the Global Governance Initiative and offered insights and recommendations on advancing Global South cooperation and China-Uganda relations.
