Drew's News: Valerie & Drew Weigh in on Divorce Rings

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/9IU0XEqgtTU3Valerie: Vogue reports divorce is getting a glow up yeah, because I love this because instead of hiding the ring, people are turning their rings into divorce rings, a divorce ring. Celebs like Emily Ratajkowski and Barbara Sturm have reworked their diamonds into bold celebratory jewelry. It's all about flipping the script, less heartbreak, and more like I survived and I still sparkle. You into this?

Drew: First of all, I do not get why there is not a single ring. Like there's an I'm taken unavailable ring. I'm looking for that ring too.

Ross: Oh, why don't we just pick a finger, and that's the single finger, and if you like it, you better put a ring on it, you know what I mean? Like why don't you just make it happen, make it a thing?

Drew: Well, I also think that divorce can be such a source of shame, the deepest of the deepest shame you could ever feel in life and so any empowerment or change of tone around it, I think could really lift someone's spirits when they feel like they have failed, they're embarrassed, they don't know how to explain the situation.

Valerie: Divorce sucks.

Drew: It just, it's awful. It's as awful as anything I've ever experienced. And so I saw this and I just thought, what a weird tone change like some empowerment, some rebelliousness, some, I don't know.

Valerie: It's like the celebratory part of it, because I mean there's a celebration of not being in that pain any longer, but there was love at one point between those I mean at some point. I think there's, it's so confusing because so many divorces are so different. I mean I've had two divorces and they were completely different. My last divorce, I actually, I did go back to the jeweler and sell my ring back, and I got a celebratory like evil eye bracelet.

Ross: Oh, you did? That's beautiful.

Valerie: So that's what I did.

Ross: I like this because divorce can be so ugly, but diamonds are always pretty, they're always, no matter what.

Valerie: Luckily they're my birth stones.

Ross: Yes, well, listen, I like that. I got you guys a present, OK, when we were, when I was reading about this story, divorce rings, this was like $11 and I got you each one because I love you and oh, you're the, oh my any finger you want.

Jessica Williams on Why She Chose to Freeze Her Eggs

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/UUCjE7zO6zTF

Drew: Is it true that you are someone when it comes to your own family wants to make smart investments in your personal future as far as what your options will be when it comes time to you and your own family?

Jessica: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I, just froze my eggs like, 3 times last year. I actually had like maybe 10 weeks ago, fibroid removal surgery and they were like massive, they were like this big and I wanted to make sure that when you remove the fibroids, you're actually taking, even though you are removing the fibroids, you're compromising the integrity of the uterus, right? So I wanted to make sure that leading up to removing the fibroids, I froze my eggs just in case. I don't even know if I want kids. I just did it because in case I changed my mind, like I just wanted to have it.

Jessica on Good & Bad Versions of Therapists

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/K53T9yhvPnVH

Drew: When you say the word therapist, what reaction do you get out in the world? Because we all know there are really good ones.

Jessica: Oh my God, there's so many bad ones. Yeah, it's really funny. I think people had this idea that all therapists were great before the show started and so people were watching the show and they're like therapists don't do that like on 'The Sopranos' Doctor Melfi was, and you're like, no, no, there's like actually like doctors in like any field there's good versions and there's bad versions like I had one years ago. I've had therapy for a long time and I had one and she just started bullying me out of nowhere and I was like oh that's a strange feeling and you know I was like, am I being was I just straight up bullied on this call? And I was like yeah and I was like oh I guess I need to find a new therapist.

Jessica on Drew Affecting Her Life Profoundly and Relating to Her

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/UuEDw8OqIQAA

Drew: Has anyone come up to you and said anything about how the show has affected their lives? Because I think comedy can do that, I think therapy can do that. I think art and storytelling can do that, and it took me a long time to get confident about that because I always saw a doctor. Now that's a person of substance and you know an entertainer.

Jessica: I'm so shocked by that. No, but I'm perfectly 36. You have affected my life profoundly.

I have, I have had you from 'E.T.' to 'Never Been Kissed' to I'm getting teary like you 'Charlie's Angels' oh my god, I'm getting misty, but you're, I'm obsessed with 'Ever After.' I'm a crier. I'm a crier, you have your work, you've affected my life profoundly. I feel like I experienced you at the exact right age for the way that you have deposited into me and my generation in a really cool way like with the 'Charlie's Angels' like you were the angel that I wanted to be like yeah, like, seriously, and your phases, like what you've been through, like you've always been quite candid about your rebellious phases and what you've been through in your childhood. I feel like I've always been aware of that. If you're a millennial, we got to experience you as this girl who never quite fit in. You were still quirky even though you're like white, but you were still like a girl that somehow felt accessible from the way you speak to the way you dress and to how funny you are and full of heart, so I just wanna thank you for that. I'm so proud of you and what you have done and how comfortable you make people feel.
