Atlanta Ventures Welcomes Kathryn Farrell as Studio Entrepreneur

At Atlanta Ventures, we believe in lines not dots. A talk. A meetup. A strategy session. A helpful intro. Pitch feedback. Investment. Each one is a point, and strung together over time, they build into a trusted relationship, one where both sides understand each other's strengths, goals, and values.

Kathryn Farrell is exactly that kind of line. And now she's joined Atlanta Ventures as our newest Studio Entrepreneur.

Who is Kathryn Farrell?

We first met Kathryn 4 years ago at a Women + Tech event at Atlanta Tech Village. She reached out for advice not long after, and from there the relationship kept going: healthcare entrepreneur meetups, founder-funder jogs, It Takes A Village pre-accelerator, advice on building, selling, and fundraising at a startup - the kind of ongoing conversation that adds up over time. Eventually she joined Copient Health, an Atlanta Ventures portfolio company, as it scaled. She rose to CEO and tripled revenue past $1M ARR.

After proving her chops at Copient Health, Kathryn wanted to build something from the ground up. It was the perfect time to partner with Atlanta Ventures.

That drive isn't new. Kathryn walked on to the University of Florida Cross Country and Track team, made the traveling top-7, and helped the team reach NCAAs for the first time in over a decade. She competed at Cross Country NCAAs and landed on the UF top 10 list for the Women's 3000m Steeplechase.

She carried that same grit into medicine, training as an Anesthesiologist Assistant and working as an anesthetist for over a decade at Grady Memorial, University of Colorado Hospital, and Emory Midtown. She rose to Lead Anesthetist, overseeing a team of 80 through the COVID-19 pandemic. Eventually, she gave up her license entirely to go all-in on startups.

Kathryn's thoughts on joining Atlanta Ventures:

"Running taught me that the work you put in over years is what actually shows up on race day. This relationship has felt the same way. Atlanta Ventures has been in my corner through every version of my career, and I'm excited to build the next one with them."

At AV, Kathryn is exploring multiple ideas as a Studio Entrepreneur, with an early lean toward healthcare given her deep clinical background and firsthand understanding of the industry's pain points.

We're honored to have her join us.
