Save the Date: Mayor Nichols, City Leaders to Host Community Conversations Centered on Public Safety This Fall

Tulsans Can Meet, Talk with New Public Safety Leadership; New Police Chief Jonathan Brooks to Also Meet with District 1 Residents Monday

Mayor Nichols and Tulsa's public safety leaders are set to host a new round of Community Conversations across Tulsa this fall to give residents the opportunity to meet Tulsa's new public safety leadership and engage in meaningful discussions on public safety.

The Community Conversations series will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the following dates/locations:

• Monday, Oct. 26 - Tulsa Tech Lemley Memorial Campus, 3420 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK, 74145
• Thursday, Oct. 29 - Herman & Kate Kaiser YMCA, 5400 S. Olympia Ave., Tulsa, OK, 74107
• Monday, Nov. 2 - Hardesty Regional Library's Frossard Auditorium, 8316 E. 93rd St., Tulsa, OK, 74133
• Thursday, Nov. 5 - Rudisill Regional Library's BOK Harmony Hall, North Meeting Room, 1017 N. Greenwood Ave., Tulsa, OK, 74106

During each conversation, residents will have the opportunity to talk with members of police, fire, emergency management, animal services, court, and other leaders on the priorities and focus areas they believe are most important regarding public safety in the city and in their neighborhoods.

In addition to these Community Conversations, Tulsa's new police chief Jonathan Brooks has been meeting with members of the community and plans to visit every corner of Tulsa. One meeting has occurred so far, and additional meetings will occur in the coming weeks and months.

Upcoming District 1 Opportunity: Meet the Police Chief
One such opportunity with Chief Brooks is scheduled on Monday with District 1 City Councilor Vanessa Hall-Harper. The event, held in partnership with the Terence Crutcher Foundation (TCF), will give residents the opportunity to hear from Chief Brooks, learn more about his vision for the police department, and discuss public safety, community trust, accountability, and ways to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.

The event will be held at the 36th Street North Event Center, 1125 E. 36th St. N., on Monday, Sept. 14, from 6:30 - 8 p.m.
