Starting Saturday, Aug. 1, UToledo students, faculty and staff can start saving on statewide bus travel through GoBus, Ohio's city-to-city bus service.
Since launching its expansion into northwest Ohio this spring, GoBus has been running routes to and from the UToledo Main Campus Transit Center at South Towerview Boulevard and East Rocket Drive, connecting Rockets to Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati and dozens of stops in between.
Starting Aug. 1, GoBus is offering a yearlong 50% discount for rides starting or ending travel at UToledo Main Campus Transit Center at South Towerview Boulevard and East Rocket Drive.
Discount activates Saturday
Beginning Aug. 1 and running through Aug. 8, 2027, the entire UToledo community can use the code GOROCKETS for an unlimited, reusable 50% discount on top of GoBus' already low standard fares, which normally range from $5 to $40 depending on trip length.
The code can be applied at checkout on ridegobus.com or through the RideGoBus mobile app and is valid for any trip to or from the UToledo bus stop.
Plan your trip now
With fall semester approaching, students heading home for a weekend, commuting from another city or making the trip back to campus in August can lock in the discount from Day One.
All GoBus buses are fully handicapped accessible and include free Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat, with service running seven days a week, 365 days a year.
GoBus data shows roughly 65% of total riders are college students traveling between campus and home, making the new discount especially well-timed for the start of the academic year.
GoBus is administered by the Transportation Division of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) and managed by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). The service now connects more than 70 stops across 62 cities and towns statewide from Akron to Zanesville.
