Northbound Off-ramp Closure Scheduled for Westbound Manuel T. Freitas Parkway as Part of Roundabout Project in City of San Rafael

Schedule: Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8 starting at 11 p.m.

Marin County - Caltrans is scheduled to close the northbound off-ramp to Westbound Manuel T. Freitas Parkway and the shoulder adjacent to the northbound US-101 off-ramp to facilitate drainage improvements. This is part of the Freitas roundabout project in San Rafael.

The closure is scheduled from Monday, May 4 at 11 p.m. until Friday, May 8 at 5 a.m. This is 24 hours per day.

Detour for Northbound US-101 to Freitas Parkway

  • Take Northbound US-101
  • Take the Northbound US-101 off-ramp to Lucas Valley Road
  • Travel Westbound on Lucas Valley Road
  • Travel Southbound on US-101 on-ramp from Lucas Valley Road
  • Take Southbound US-101
  • Take the off-ramp to Freitas Parkway

Stage 3 construction continues for the project as the intersection of Civic Center Drive/Redwood Highway will continue to be closed through June 2026.

Stage 3 includes the roundabout construction on the east side. There will be a new bus stop constructed as well as a northbound slip on-ramp.

All work is dependent on weather and other factors.
