Chalk It Up at Carrollton’s Free Summer Kickoff Celebration

Step into summertime at Carrollton's Chalk the Park Celebration on Thursday, May 21 from 5-8 p.m. at Mary Heads Carter Park (2320 Heads Lane).

Bring the whole family, friends, and even the neighbors to the free festivities. There is no admission fee.

Dress for splashes, enjoy water games, navigate inflatable obstacle courses, and take advantage of the photo ops available for immortalizing the moment. Have a friend shoot a pic in front of a colorful, fringed backdrop or pose in front of the big canvas of chalk drawings.

Attendees can unleash creativity with endless chalk-art opportunities. Design stunning sidewalk chalk masterpieces, get dusted in chalk powder in exciting games, and cool off with a colorful water gun showdown, or watch other talented artists at work. Chalk is free while quantities last, or participants can bring their own.

Bring lawn chairs and blankets because, as the sun sets, everyone can spread out to enjoy a special outdoor screening of the animated adventure Inside Out 2 (2024), PG ꟷ the perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year with the whole family.

Throughout the evening, a food truck will be on-site to satisfy any appetite attendees may have worked up.
