CCOB awarded Polco’s Best in Governance 2025 Community Impact - National Champion - Economy

The City and County of Broomfield (CCOB) has been honored as the National Champion for Economy in the 2025 Best in Governance Awards. The award was presented at the ICMA (International City/County Management Association) Annual Conference in Tampa, Florida, by Polco's National Research Center.

"Winning this award is a true reflection of the long-term work it takes to foster, nurture and grow a strong economy. This award is the result of the dedication of our teams-the behind-the-scenes work that doesn't always make headlines, but makes all the difference," said Jennifer Hoffman, City and County Manager. "Their commitment and focus on service to the community is what makes recognition like this possible, and what truly deserves celebrating."

This prestigious award identifies CCOB as one of the "very best of the best" communities in the nation. These National Champions are recognized for transforming how government works by effectively blending resident voice, trusted data and actionable insight. CCOB being awarded Community Impact: Economy National Champion specifically highlights the outstanding achievements in fostering economic vitality.

"These results don't happen overnight-they go back to our commitment and focus on fiscal sustainability, which our community continues to rank as the number one goal," continued Hoffman. "This achievement reflects the dedication and commitment that is evident across our community: maintaining the lowest crime rate in the metro area, continuing to actively pursue our 40% open space goal, earning high marks in employee surveys, expanding community engagement through our library, human services, workforce, recreation programs and police deportment, and strengthening our network of nonprofit partners. Being recognized as the national leader in this category affirms that our intentional, collaborative approach is not only working here at home but is also setting a national standard."

The Best in Governance Awards celebrate communities that demonstrate exceptional success in resident engagement, measurable impacts and transformational leadership. Visit the POLCO web page for more information on the 2025 Best in Governance Awards.
