Public information meeting for Dodge Street Reconstruction Project to take place June 23

The second public information meeting for the Dodge Street Reconstruction Project will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, in Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library.

North Dodge Street is currently planned for reconstruction between East Burlington Street and North Governor Street. The project will involve replacement of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and water main, along with new concrete pavement, sidewalks, retaining walls, driveway approaches, and traffic signals. The project will also implement speed reduction measures along the corridor, where possible.

The project is in the design phase and bid letting is tentatively expected in May 2027. Construction is anticipated to take place spring 2028 through fall 2030.

The open house public information meeting will feature a short presentation and the opportunity to address questions to the project engineer and consultant team. The presentation will be posted to the project webpage following the meeting.
