ATLANTA - State Representative Sandra Scott (D-Rex) celebrates Clayton students' participation in Atlanta News First's "Pledge of the Day" program. The program, which airs daily on WANF Atlanta News First at 5 a.m., 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., features young students from schools across Metro Atlanta leading and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
"The students were absolutely thrilled to be a part of the 'I Pledge' Program," said Rep. Scott. "Their smiles, enthusiasm and pride were contagious. I see this as a strong partnership between WANF and the Clayton County Public Schools - one that helps our students shine and reminds them that their voices matter. They are our future, and we are preparing them for the world to see."
State Representative Sandra G. Scott expressed her gratitude to WANF News and Jeff Morey for their commitment to uplifting local students and celebrating community pride. Teachers, parents and administrators also joined in thanking WANF for giving their students a chance to be seen and heard on television.
Rep. Scott encourages all families to tune in and watch their young scholars as they honor the flag and pledge their allegiance to the United States of America.
"Thank you again to WANF, Jeff Morey and the Clayton County School District for partnering with me on this incredible initiative," added Rep. Scott. "Together, we are helping our children stand tall, speak proudly and believe in themselves."
The "Pledge of the Day" program is a community engagement series by WANF News that travels to local elementary schools, giving students the opportunity to lead and recite the Pledge of Allegiance on live television. Representative Sandra Scott represents the citizens of District 76, which includes a portion of Clayton County. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves on the Banks & Banking, Defense & Veterans Affairs, Human Relations & Aging, Insurance and Reapportionment and Redistricting committees.
