Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand visited the Indium Corporation to highlight its vital role in America's critical minerals sector and underscore the importance of the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM), the Mohawk Valley's Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP).
"Upstate New York's leadership in innovation and chip manufacturing means good-paying jobs and a thriving economic future," said Senator Gillibrand. "Indium Corporation exemplifies New York's critical role in strengthening our national security by reducing reliance on foreign-made chips and keeping the U.S. at the forefront of global innovation. I'm proud that New York is the cornerstone of America's semiconductor strength - building our economy, protecting our security, and ensuring that Americans lead the world in technological progress. Indium's collaboration with the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing demonstrates the importance of the Manufacturing Extension Partnerships, and the role they play in ensuring the success of American manufacturing."
"We thank Senator Gillibrand for recognizing the importance of Indium Corporation's work in critical materials like gallium," said Ross Berntson, President and CEO, Indium Corporation. "Her continued support helps us expand innovation, strengthen domestic manufacturing, and build a more resilient future for advanced technology in the United States."
"Mohawk Valley Community College and AIM are extremely grateful for Senator Gillibrand's support of Community Colleges, New York State's manufacturers, and the NYS Manufacturing Extension Partnership Program," said Cory Albrecht, Director of the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing. "This continued support allows for AIM to deliver impactful game changing training programs to Indium employees, and manufacturers throughout the Mohawk Valley."
