Christopher Hunt '02 Ed.D. '19 will be the keynote speaker for East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania's graduate commencement ceremony on Friday, May 8 at 6:45 p.m. in Koehler Fieldhouse.
Dr. Hunt serves as Vice President and Dean for Inclusive Excellence at Moravian University, where he is a member of the President's Cabinet. In this role, he leads the university's efforts in academic support, inclusion and belonging, international education, and faculty and staff development-key areas that advance Moravian's strategic vision and community values.
He is the founder of the award-winning Reed Raymond '74 College Readiness Program of the Lehigh Valley, which prepares high school students for a successful transition to college. The program is inspired by his research and dissertation, "When Millennials Meet Baby Boomers: A Multiple Case Study on the Experiences of Black Male College Students," which examined the experiences of Black men who attended predominantly White institutions (PWIs) during the 1960s and 1970s, and again during the 2010s.
Dr. Hunt's career includes leadership roles at multiple institutions, including Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students at Lafayette College and Associate Provost for Community, Equity, and Diversity at the University of New England, where he also taught as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Arts and Humanities.
Outside of his professional commitments, Hunt is the husband of a licensed therapist, and father of five children across two generations-three Generation Z young adults and boy/girl twin toddlers from Generation Beta. Dr. Hunt earned his bachelor's and doctoral degrees from East Stroudsburg University and a Master of Science in Administration from West Chester University. He is a longtime active member of Greater Shiloh Church and also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
