"Governor Hochul's 2026 State of the State lays out a bold and practical vision for the State's future. Her sustained investment in Syracuse and Central New York is deeply valued, and I am eager to work alongside the Governor to turn these initiatives into real results. Her understanding and commitment to affordability to reduce energy bills, lower insurance costs, and eliminate taxes on tips will make a real difference for the everyday lives of working families. The focus on public safety, including efforts to get illegal guns off our streets and address emerging threats like untraceable 3D-printed firearms, is critical for protecting our communities. And by cutting red tape to accelerate housing and infrastructure projects, these landmark reforms will help build a stronger, safer, and more affordable region for everyone. Syracuse supports the Governor's proposed budget and looks forward to partnering with her to implement these investments that will strengthen the City of Syracuse and the entire Central New York region."
