President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg, who arrived in Kyiv on a visit.

An important topic of the meeting was the steps toward achieving real peace and security guarantees for Ukraine. The parties discussed the expansion of the PURL initiative to finance the production and procurement of Patriot systems, as well as bilateral agreements on drones and weapons proposed by Ukraine to the United States. Ukraine counts on a positive response from the American side.

Special attention was given to working with partners to strengthen tariff and sanctions pressure on Russia so as to enable a meeting at the leaders' level as soon as possible and bring the war to an end. The President emphasized that a trilateral format of negotiations at the leaders' level is the most effective.

The parties discussed international cooperation on the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, as well as the conditions in which these children are being held.

The President expressed condolences to the American people over the horrific murder of Charlie Kirk and thanked President Donald Trump for his condolences and response to the killing of Ukrainian citizen Iryna Zarutska in North Carolina. The Head of State stressed that justice must prevail every time violence seeks to take hold.

In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Keith Kellogg discussed preparations for the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the planned events, coordination between Ukraine and the United States, and work within the Coalition of the Willing. The parties are working on potential meetings and various formats.
